Intro Blog

Hi world, 

I’m Giovanna Pereira and this is me (I guess). Well, I’m not really sure about what I should be saying so I’m just going to write whatever comes to mind. When I’m older, I want to be a lawyer (specifically a transactional lawyer) and I want to own my own law firm, I'd call it Dwell Law Firm. One of my greatest passions is God and the church. I'm extremely dedicated to the church and God has done the impossible in my life, so why not do the things that will make Him happy?! I'm currently a leader for a children's life group, I'm a host for a teen life group, and I'm part of a small team called the Enjoy X team. The Enjoy X team plans, set up, and takes control of the Enjoy X services (which is a church service for teenagers). In my life group for children, I currently lead 5 children. Their names are Enzo, Bella, Rhyara, Alan (I call him alanzinho), and Ben. Those children are one of the best things that have come into my life and I am grateful every day for them. I'm also in Mock Trial as a witness (which can be really fun), I like the part where I get to act like someone else and just have fun with different personalities other than just mine. A couple things that I can't stand are when people don't understand the concept of time and place, when people eat/chew with their mouth open (especially gum!!!!), when they are know-it-alls, and when people think they are better than you. I really love my family!!!! I am extremely close to them and without them, I don't know where or how I would be. They are one of the most precious people in my life and I'm very thankful for them, even though Daniel (my little brother) can be a pain in the butt most of the time. I also value my friendships as well. I have a bunch of friends at church and I can never be sad around them. Having friends in a community that shares the same beliefs, and lives similar lifestyles as you, along with similar goals, it's difficult to not enjoy the time you share with each other (especially with my friends). Now that I come to think about it, I don't have many friends at school. I have a good amount but my main friends are Hailey and Michael. I've known Michael since middle school and he is my closest guy friend that I have. We get on each other's nerves quite a bit, however, we still love one another deep down. I've known Hailey for only a little over a year but I've never met such an amazing person in my life. Words can describe the love I have for Hailey and are friendship that we've created in such a short amount of time. Just like with Michael, Hailey and I "bully" each other a bunch but we do it out of love. I enjoy the ocean a lot. I usually go boating and fishing with my family whenever we have free time in our busy schedule. I was born here in the United States but both my parents were born in Brazil, I also have a majority of my family who live there and I've visited there many times. I think that my favorite family member is my Grandpa João (dad's side). He is literally the funniest and most enjoyable person I have ever met. He constantly tells the same jokes/stories over and over again and you'll never get bored, I don't know why I guess that's just how it is. I like doing puzzles and watching movies in my free time, I have the soul of a grandma. There is much more to me but I won't be able to say everything here, so.... see you later!!

Hello World, Let's get to adding the finishing touches to the film. First, I went straight to the easiest tweak to get it over with, the spooky scene. Like I mentioned before, my mom said that it was too fast, so I slowed it down a bit. Rather than having the speed at 1.2x, I brought it down to 1.1x. By adjusting it the slightest bit, it made it better to notice and see spooky yet not interfere with the length of the video. Next, I went through and found every scene that included dialogue. One of the feedback that I received was that the music was too loud whoever the characters were talking. So, I lowered the volume a bit for every scene that involved talking. This took a while because only a small amount of scenes had no audio or conversation, meaning I had to edit the volume on post of the scenes. This process wasn't too bad but it took a good chunk of time, but the worst was yet to come. Fixing the timing of the titles was definitely the most time consuming adjustment I had...

Hello World, It's time for feedback. I first went to my parents to show them my film and get their opinions of it. My mom liked it a lot, but some things that she said was that the subtitles were going by too fast. Due to the how quick the subtitles appeared and disappeared from the scene, she was barely able to read what was written. Another comment that she had was that the scene where spooky appears in Daniel's room was too fast as well. According to her, she didn't really notice that spooky was in the room due to how fast the scene was. My dad didn't have much to critic about the film other than that he didn't like the transition to the flashback. He said it was too dramatic and it didn't really fit the film. He also suggested that instead of the Giovanna and Spooky facing the same way, we should invert Giovanna's phone call scene to make it look like they are actually talking to one another.
