Research and Planning Blog

 Hello world,

When it came to choosing my photos for my commercial project, it was honestly pretty difficult to choose which ones I wanted to use. I have a good amount of photos of me now but I have a BUNCH of photos from when I was younger and it was really difficult to decide which ones were cuter than the other. I also thought of including photos of things I like to do including going to the ocean and going to church. The idea that I had in mind was just including one photo of things I like to do or go to, so now I have to make the decision whether I'm going to add a photo for each or just choose the one I enjoy most. The process of finding the photos wasn't as hard as I thought it would be because I'm the main person in my family who takes and saves photos on cellular devices, so I basically had everything on my phone already. However, I also looked a bit through my dad's phone to see if he had any photos or videos that I might've not had in my photo library, and he did. Another thing that I did was go through all of the physical photos that I had in a memory box that my mom made, I found some of the ones that I liked and took pictures of them, then edited them to look like regular pictures that my phone took. The second thing that I did was find the videos that I was going to add to my commercial. This process took a lot longer than I expected because I don't take many videos of myself or the ones that other people have taken of me. I had to dig through my parents' phones and I also asked some of my closest friends if they had any videos of me that they could send me. I wasn't able to retain many videos, however, I was able to find a handful of them. So now, all I have to do is go through them and pick out my top three so I can insert them into my project. The song-picking portion of the research process was by far the hardest out of the three. When I was looking through all of the genres of songs that I enjoy listening to I was able to narrow them down to three genres: Sertanejo, Samba, and Gospel. The thing that made it difficult for me to choose the songs was the fact that I was struggling to find two songs that matched the vibe that I was going for with this commercial, along with the lyrics. A lot of these songs are either extremely calming or really energetic, so it took a good minute to find two songs that met in the middle and not too much of something. There were also a bunch of songs that I've been enjoying a lot lately so that also contributed to the difficulty of choosing certain songs instead of others. But overall, I feel as if I was able to gather up a good selection of media and songs to create the commercial that I have in mind. The research process took a lot longer than I imagined it would've been and I never realized how indecisive I am until now. My favorite part of the research and planning was looking through all of my old photos and videos. They brought back so many great memories and it was really nice to remember and somewhat experience those moments again.

Until Next Time!!!
