Production Blog
Hello World,
So... we went to film on Saturday. In my opinion, it was a waste of time. I had a plan to film everything on Saturday but Michael (the person playing the main character) told me last minute that he was only going to be able to film for an hour. Then, Natalia (the person that was going to be Michael's friend in the video) also told me that she was going to only be able to film for an hour since she had to go to work. We all still went to see how much we were going to be able to get done. We were only able to shoot the first 3 scenes which wasn't too bad considering our circumstance. The filming process was so difficult, not because of the actual filming but we kept laughing the whole time. Since I'm the girl that our main character has a crush on, one of my closest friends (who is the person playing the main character), it was really awkward when he would have to stare at me as if he was in love with me. In a majority of the takes that we filmed, you could see me smirking and trying to hold my laughter in. Out of the 7 takes that we filmed, only one of them were decent. During our filming process, it got to a point where we were laughing so much that one of the employees of the Barnes and Noble that we were filming at asked us if everything was alright. It was so embarrassing but we continued filming like normal, all we had to be careful of the volume of our voices. Madelyn was the one who was filming the scenes and she did a really god job. We filmed everything on my phone instead of using a camera like I originally wanted. To be honest, the only reason that I wanted to a camera in the first place was to actually feel as if we were producers. But the more I thought about it, I started to prefer using a phone simply because it would be more practical and it would be easier to transfer the scenes into our editing software. We weren't able to film everything that we wanted to, obviously, so we all wanted to film Monday. For us, Monday was going to be an early release day and the Barnes and Noble was right next to the school, so it would've been perfect since we were leaving early. Kameron (one of the actors who is Michael's friend in the video) said that he wasn't sure whether he was going to be able to film that day because he had to practice for the pep rally we are going to have, but he was going to give us a definite answer on Monday. But other than him, everyone said that they would be able to film on Monday. The plan is that after school finishes at 12:40pm, everyone would get in my car and I would drive everyone to the Barnes and Noble so we could automatically start filming. Let see what happens.
Until next time!!!
