Critical Creative Reflection

Image
Hello World, These are my responses to the Critical Creative Reflection Questions :) How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? For my music video, I somewhat challenged conventions. In my genre and the songs that I used for my research blog, they mainly demonstrated more of a generally happy feeling when it comes to a boy and a girl, whether it be in a relationship or attraction in general. But something that is rarely seen in these music videos is the darker areas of relationships including manipulation, gaslighting, and desires that are not mutual. For my music video, I chose the song “Love Me” by Justin Bieber, and for the music video, I wanted to show a bit of that not-so-happy area of relationships or between people in general that people tend to avoid showing. The way that I interpreted to song was that the guy was declaring his love for the girl he likes and kept insisting for her to love him, telling her where she shou...

Production Blog

Image
Hello World, The day officially arrived when it was time to edit the music video. First, I began uploading all of the scenes that we filmed on production day onto Capcut. Capcut is the editing software that all the editing for the music video. Then, I had to rearrange the clips to do in chronological order. The storyboard that was created earlier in the project process helped a bunch when it came to figuring out and remembering what order each scene goes in. The next thing that I had to do was input our song, but there was one small problem. The song "Love Me" by Justin Bieber wasn't already on the app. So, I had to download the song onto my phone, but I had to look up a bunch of websites to be able to download it and have the ability to add it into CapCut. Once I placed the song into the video, I began messing around with some transitions. To me, this was one of the most enjoyable parts of the whole editing process because I got to be creative and have fun with the vari...

Movie Research: Nerve

Image
Hello World, A movie that I used for research was Nerve. 1. What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have?   - Some conventions of the genre I chose to base my final task on that this movie has are the costumes and the shots, specifically point-of-view shots. In this movie, the characters wore a casual wardrobe for most of the movie which would make it easier on us when we begin filming to prevent as many extraneous variables as we can. This film includes multiple point-of-view shots which help the audience feel the character's suspense and create an exhilarating effect. These shots would help us create an accurate , suspenseful, exciting, and exhilarating effect on viewers.     2. What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you liked?   - A convention of the genre that this movie had that I liked was the sound motifs. In this movie every time the characters that played the viewers in the movies went up it ke...
