Reflection

Hello world,

Well, I'm done with the project. So... I guess it's time to reflect on it and the process of making it. During the journey of making this project, I had to learn how to use some new apps like CapCut, along with learning how to convert music files. For me, CapCut was fairly easy to use and navigate. It took me a bit of time to figure out how to place and rearrange the photos and videos to my liking. Since they were all out of order when I inputted them into the "project", it took me about 3-5 minutes to arrange them the way I wanted. When finishing that section of the project, I had to insert the music. This part took the longest because I had to record the audio onto my phone, edit it, and shorten it to what part of the song I wanted to use, then I had to use a file converter website to change the file type for me to be able to input it into the commercial. I also got to learn how to use YouTube, in a content creator aspect. I never knew how to upload videos onto the website/app, so it was new to me and it was honestly a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. Something that I learned about the process of putting a project together was that it has many phases. Putting something like this together has phases in which you do things and each phase must be dedicated to one thing. For example, there was a selection phase when I was selecting which photos, videos, and songs that I was going to be using for this project. Then, there was the editing phase for the photos and songs, there was the inputting phase where I would insert everything I needed for the commercial, and then there was the finalizing phase which was when I would rearrange everything and make final touches to the project before publishing it. I thought that the whole project was going to be something quick and not time-consuming, yet I was wrong. There were so many small details involved with making a project like this one and many aspects that go unnoticed that never came to mind when I first learned that I was going to be making a commercial. There was also a lot of decision-making during the process as well, which didn't do me much good since I'm a very indecisive person. I remember that when the time came to choose which transition I wanted to use between my photos and videos, I took a good 5 minutes just to finally choose one transition type. Something that I would definitely do to make the next project better would be to spend more time making it. I feel like I pushed back making my project way too much, leaving me with not a lot of time to put it together. The project was rushed and I believe that if I dedicated a bit more time to it and began it ahead of time, the quality of it would've been much better.

Until next time!!!

Sincerely,

Giovanna Pereira
